Why it matters: In this role, you’ll serve as a crucial financial support to the firm’s operations, ensuring accurate processing of client payments, maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards, and providing professional service that upholds the firm's reputation for excellence.
Go deeper: This position requires superior organisational skills, attention to detail, and understanding of accounting principles. In this role, you will:
Accurately process payments from clients, including cheques, cash, and wire transfers
Prepare and verify deposit book entries for the bank, ensuring returned entries are accurate
Issue receipts and maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions
Handle client trust accounts in compliance with legal and ethical standards
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports as required
Assist in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies efficiently
Assist with enquiries regarding billing, payments, and account balances
Ensure all cheque payments, bank letters, deposits, and receipts are filed daily in sequential order with supporting documents in compliance with policies and procedures
Collaborate with the Accounts Receivables Officer to ensure accurate financial reporting
Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and financial data
Provide courteous and professional service to clients during financial transactions
Details: Ideal candidates will embody professional rigour and commitment to exceptional standards. This position requires:
Minimum of CAT Level 2 or experience in accounting in a computerised and fast-paced environment
Proficiency in MS Office Suite with advanced level Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Knowledge of key accounting principles and procedures
Knowledge of PC Law would be an asset
Strong decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organising and time management skills with keen attention to details
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
