You’ll work at the intersection of pedagogy and technology, designing engaging learning experiences, configuring our Learning Management System, and empowering faculty to create accessible, inclusive, and effective learning environments for our students.

From developing course content and configuring assessments to training faculty in digital pedagogy and ensuring term readiness, you’ll help ensure every course meets institutional standards for quality, accessibility, and learner engagement.
Go deeper: This role requires an experienced instructional designer, educational technologist, and collaborative professional who can:
Design and develop quality learning experiences
Work with Subject Matter Experts and faculty on course-level instructional design, including contributing to the articulation of instructional goals and development of content that matches these goals
Apply established instructional design theories, practice, and methods to enhance learner engagement
Develop learning activities for online, blended, and face-to-face delivery
Advise on the use of appropriate multimedia and learning resources
Advise on the selection of instructional materials, digital tools, and Open Educational Resources (OERs) to support teaching and learning
Manage Learning Management System operations
Design, configure, and enhance the usability, accessibility, inclusiveness, and consistency of course layouts and learning environments within the Learning Management System (LMS)
Configure and implement assessment components within the LMS, including rubrics, gradebook settings, availability controls, approved accommodations, and assessment readiness checks, in alignment with established course requirements
Maintain, update, and manage the uploading and organisation of course content on the LMS
Organise, structure, and sequence content and learning activities across multiple delivery modalities, in alignment with institutional policies and established best practices for teaching and learning
Support faculty development and technology adoption
Design and deliver training for faculty on instructional design principles, digital pedagogy, and effective use of the LMS across online, blended, and face-to-face learning environments
Assist faculty on incorporating new instructional technologies within approved courses and learning activities
Support and guide faculty in adopting new instructional approaches and technologies
Drive continuous improvement and innovation
Conduct applied reviews of emerging trends, tools, and practices in instructional design and digital learning
Review instructional design-related feedback to inform recommendations to Academic Affairs as appropriate
Monitor instructional design tools, practices, and trends to provide practical recommendations to enhance teaching and learning delivery
Provide documentation and reporting
Maintain records of course content updates, LMS configurations, assessment configurations, and instructional design interventions
Develop course content and instructional materials for LMS-supported delivery, including text-based materials and multimedia resources (e.g. video, audio, graphics)
Create faculty training materials, guides, and instructional resources related to instructional design, digital pedagogy, and LMS use
Prepare IDS Weekly Monitoring Reports, documenting LMS readiness, assessment configuration status, accessibility and inclusion checks, and instructional delivery issues
Submit term-end IDS Reports to the Director — Academic Affairs, summarising instructional design activities, LMS readiness, key issues, and recommendations for improvement
Document project schedules, implementation notes, and instructional design-related documentation for approved initiatives

Success metrics: In this role, you'll be accountable for:
High-quality, well-structured teaching and learning content developed and delivered across online, blended, and face-to-face modalities in alignment with institutional expectations
Courses delivered through the Learning Management System are clearly organised, usable, accessible, inclusive, and consistent in presentation
Course content and LMS environments prepared and ready for delivery at the start of each academic term
Faculty demonstrate increased confidence and competence in the effective use of instructional design principles, digital pedagogy, and LMS-supported teaching practices
Instructional design-related inputs and documentation provided in a timely and effective manner to support academic activities and learning delivery
Learning strategies and instructional technologies appropriately applied to support and enhance student learning and performance
Emerging instructional design tools, practices, and trends monitored and inform practical recommendations to enhance teaching and learning delivery

The bottom line: We're looking for someone with:
Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or similar relevant field
3–5 years’ experience in instructional design, learning design, educational technology, or related area
Experience working with faculty or Subject Matter Experts to design or enhance learning materials
Experience supporting learning across more than one delivery modality (online, blended, or face-to-face)
Essential knowledge and skills:
Knowledge of instructional design principles, learning theories, and design models applicable to online, blended, and face-to-face learning
Knowledge of digital pedagogy and technology-enhanced teaching and learning practices
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and their use in supporting course delivery
Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design considerations in learning environments
Knowledge of the use and purpose of multimedia, learning objects, and digital learning resources in different instructional delivery models
Working knowledge of copyright, licensing, and the use of Open Educational Resources (OERs)
Knowledge of academic term-cycle readiness processes for LMS-supported delivery, including pre-term course setup, assessment readiness, and start-of-term checks
Knowledge of common Learning Management System (LMS) troubleshooting patterns and resolution approaches related to course configuration, assessments, user access, and content delivery
Knowledge of institutional policies and guidelines related to teaching and learning
Awareness of emerging trends and innovations in instructional design and digital learning
Proficiency in the use of the institutional Learning Management System (Canvas) to support course delivery, assessment configuration, gradebook management, and term readiness activities
Competence in the use of Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook) for collaboration, documentation, and operational coordination
Ability to develop, edit, and organise instructional content in text, audio, and video formats
Ability to design and structure engaging learning activities and resources for online and blended environments
Competence in using common productivity and collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, cloud-based collaboration platforms)
